The symbol of Świnoujście — a white navigation beacon from 1874. Its distinctive windmill shape with three sails is the only construction of its kind on the Baltic. At the end of the western breakwater, a perfect sunset spot.

The highest cliffs of the Polish coast begin just outside Świnoujście, towards Międzyzdroje. A viewpoint at Kawcza Góra, and further on Gosań — 93 metres above sea level. Wild, quiet beaches below and trails through beech forest.

A free ferry across the Świna connecting the islands of Usedom and Wolin — running around the clock, and the crossing is a small attraction in itself. Views of the port, shipyard and seagoing ships from the deck. For pedestrians and cyclists it is the most pleasant way to the right bank.

A modern yacht harbour at the mouth of the Świna. Seafood restaurants and a steakhouse, a viewing terrace overlooking ocean-going ships entering the commercial port. A perfect place for lunch with a view.

An ornithological reserve on Karsibór island — lagoon meadows and reed beds, a refuge for rare wetland birds, including the famous aquatic warbler. Bring binoculars: the best birdwatching is in spring and autumn, during migrations.

A complex of 19th-century fortifications guarding the Świna mouth: Fort Gerhard with the Coastal Defence Museum and drill shows, the rotunda-shaped Angel Fort, the Western Fort with its militaria collection, and the Underground City on Wolin island — a tourist route through Cold War bunkers. A treat for history lovers, great for family sightseeing.
